                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Blue Angels 9- to 10-year-old Youth Basketball
    1-2  League Eastern Division team achieved outstanding success during
    1-3  the 1995 campaign by capturing the Edinburg city championship and
    1-4  completing the season with a record of nine wins and only one
    1-5  defeat; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Sponsored by Lone Star National Bank, this talented
    1-7  group of young athletes devoted a great deal of time and effort to
    1-8  the mastery of this exhilarating sport, while still maintaining a
    1-9  sense of good-natured fun on the court; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Dedication to excellence both individually and as a
   1-11  team was a hallmark of this superb squad, whose members include
   1-12  Nick Garcia, Pablo Cantu, Mark Hudgens, Jonathan Peterson, Chris
   1-13  McClelland, Joey Prado, Drew De La Garza, Gabrielle Ruiz, Amy
   1-14  Alamia, Julio De La Garza, and Raul Gonzalez; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Head coach Louie Alamia provided tireless leadership
   1-16  to his young charges, schooling them in hardwood fundamentals and
   1-17  encouraging their enjoyment of this great sport, and he was ably
   1-18  supported in his efforts by assistant coach Joe Bill Hudgens; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Young athletes who choose to compete in team sports
   1-20  not only develop important physical skills but also learn the value
   1-21  of teamwork and the excitement of healthy competition and the
   1-22  notable efforts of these young Texans in this worthy pursuit indeed
   1-23  merit special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-24        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-1  Legislature hereby congratulate the Blue Angels 9- to 10-year-old
    2-2  Youth Basketball League Eastern Division team on its outstanding
    2-3  season, which culminated in the Edinburg city championship, and
    2-4  extend to them best wishes for continued success in the future;
    2-5  and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    2-7  for the team members and coaching staff as an expression of high
    2-8  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
