                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Kristian Villarreal, an outstanding high school student from
    1-3  Houston who is visiting the State Capitol on this day; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Kristian is in her junior year at S. P. Waltrip
    1-5  Senior High School and was chosen to take part in this special trip
    1-6  to Austin for her academic and extracurricular achievements, as
    1-7  well as her interest in state government; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A member of the French National Honor Society,
    1-9  Kristian excels in both academics and athletics at her school,
   1-10  where she participates in University Outreach and the French Club
   1-11  and plays for her school's junior varsity volleyball team; she also
   1-12  has helped to bring widespread acclaim to Waltrip as a member of
   1-13  the school's winning Odyssey of the Mind team, which has placed
   1-14  first in regional competition for two consecutive years; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, This remarkable young woman has benefitted her peers
   1-16  as a junior class co-worker and also filled this important niche
   1-17  for her classmates during her sophomore year; Kristian has earned a
   1-18  number of well-deserved accolades during her tenure in high school
   1-19  as well, having been nominated for Who's Who on two occasions and
   1-20  elected vice president of her class as a freshman; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Kristian Villarreal typifies the finest qualities of
   1-22  our state's young people, and her interest in learning about state
   1-23  government is indeed commendable and deserving of special
   1-24  legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-2  Legislature hereby welcome Kristian Villarreal to the State Capitol
    2-3  and extend warmest best wishes to her for an educational and
    2-4  memorable stay in Austin; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for this fine student as an expression of high regard by
    2-7  the Texas House of Representatives.
