                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Midway High School Panther swim team has
    1-2  achieved outstanding success in 1995, the inaugural year of the
    1-3  swimming program at that school, and the sterling efforts of these
    1-4  young athletes herald even greater accomplishments for future
    1-5  squads; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Competing at the district meet in Temple, the
    1-7  Panthers earned an impressive fourth place finish, and their
    1-8  showing won the team a spot in regional competition in both the 200
    1-9  individual medley and 200 freestyle relay events; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Head coach Jana Thomas inspired her charges to
   1-11  perform at the highest possible level, honing their fundamental
   1-12  skills and allowing them to make the most of their considerable
   1-13  physical talents in this demanding sport; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, These exemplary young athletes are a source of
   1-15  tremendous pride to the students and faculty at Midway High School
   1-16  and their many supporters in the community, and their notable
   1-17  athletic achievements are indeed worthy of special legislative
   1-18  recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-20  Legislature hereby congratulate members of the Midway High School
   1-21  Panther swim team on their extraordinary accomplishments during the
   1-22  1995 season and extend to them best wishes for continued success in
   1-23  the future; and, be it further
   1-24        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-1  prepared for the team members and coaching staff and for prominent
    2-2  display at Midway High School as an expression of high regard by
    2-3  the Texas House of Representatives.
