                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The seventh grade history class of The Teacher
    1-2  Academy in Edinburg has accomplished a truly remarkable feat by
    1-3  winning the regional phase of the Texas State Preservation Board's
    1-4  Capitol Contest; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Open to participation from students across the
    1-6  state, the contest required each class to build a model of the
    1-7  State Capitol, and The Teacher Academy class project proved
    1-8  superior in this exacting area of competition; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The members of the class, who devoted many hours to
   1-10  the preparation of this project, include Josh Bradford, Chih-Ming
   1-11  Cheng, Sunshine Corlilss, Rene Cortez, Alex De Leon, Jamie Elliott,
   1-12  Sandra Faires, Alie Garcia, Jessica Garcia, Heitham Ghariani,
   1-13  Elisabeth Good, Jennifer Gulley, Betty Gutierrez, Trenton
   1-14  Henrichson, Vanessa Salinas, Karla Sereno, Abraham Tanus, and
   1-15  Carlos Vasquez; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Encouraging her students to learn more about their
   1-17  State Capitol was the goal of teacher Linda Daniel, who provided
   1-18  exemplary guidance to her young charges during the course of their
   1-19  instructive labors; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, For their award-winning project, these outstanding
   1-21  scholars have been flown here to attend Capitol rededication events
   1-22  and to see firsthand the newly restored building that has inspired
   1-23  their endeavors; and
   1-24        WHEREAS, These fine young Texans have demonstrated the
    2-1  qualities of dedication and teamwork that are at the core of any
    2-2  successful venture, and their exceptional efforts on this worthy
    2-3  project indeed merit special legislative recognition; now,
    2-4  therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the seventh grade
    2-7  history class at The Teacher Academy in Edinburg for their superior
    2-8  achievement in winning the regional phase of the Texas State
    2-9  Preservation Board's Capitol Contest and offer them a warm welcome
   2-10  on the occasion of their visit to the Texas Capitol; and, be it
   2-11  further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the class and for prominent display at The Teacher
   2-14  Academy in Edinburg as an expression of high regard by the Texas
   2-15  House of Representatives.
