                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  the many exceptional volunteers at Brenham State School, who have
    1-3  helped to make this fine facility a more rewarding and enjoyable
    1-4  place for students and staff members alike; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Brenham State School volunteers work closely with
    1-6  the students, helping those individuals to live up to their full
    1-7  potential; because of the participation of these dedicated
    1-8  volunteers, students at the school have the opportunity to attend
    1-9  social and cultural events, visit volunteers' homes, go on shopping
   1-10  expeditions, attend church services, and form new friendships; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The members of the Brenham State School Volunteer
   1-12  Services Council have sponsored a golf tournament, a Valentine
   1-13  luncheon, and various fund-raising drives to raise money for the
   1-14  school's activities; as a result of their tireless efforts, the
   1-15  school has purchased a power wheelchair and a four-wheel scooter
   1-16  and has embarked on a successful landscaping and beautification
   1-17  program; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, In light of the many important contributions that
   1-19  these volunteers make each day to enhancing the lives of their
   1-20  fellow citizens, it is indeed appropriate that they be given
   1-21  special legislative recognition and support; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby commend the members of the Brenham State School
   1-24  Volunteer Services Council for their many outstanding
    2-1  accomplishments; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-3  prepared for the volunteers at Brenham State School as an
    2-4  expression of highest regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
