                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The members of the Texas House of Representatives
    1-2  join with the students, teachers, and parents of Johnson Elementary
    1-3  School in celebrating the institution's recent designation as a
    1-4  Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education;
    1-5  and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This prestigious award is given to the finest
    1-7  schools in the nation that have displayed a commitment to achieving
    1-8  academic excellence, fostering responsible student behavior, and
    1-9  providing educators with the recognition, training, and assistance
   1-10  they deserve for their exceptional efforts; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Part of the Carroll Independent School District,
   1-12  Johnson Elementary School has consistently demonstrated these
   1-13  qualities and is well known throughout the state for the innovative
   1-14  and challenging programs it offers to students at all levels of
   1-15  academic ability; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Students at Johnson Elementary School have compiled
   1-17  an impressive record of academic, artistic, and athletic
   1-18  accomplishments, and their parents and teachers have devoted
   1-19  themselves to giving these children new educational opportunities
   1-20  that enable them to reach their highest goals and aspirations; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Johnson Elementary School is one of the most
   1-22  remarkable institutions of its kind in the State of Texas and in
   1-23  the United States, and it is indeed appropriate that the school be
   1-24  given special legislative recognition and support; now, therefore,
    2-1  be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-3  Legislature hereby congratulate the students, parents, and teachers
    2-4  of Johnson Elementary School on receiving a national Blue Ribbon
    2-5  School award and commend them for their unwavering commitment to
    2-6  promoting excellence in public education; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for prominent display at Johnson Elementary School as an
    2-9  expression of highest regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
