                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Over the past seven years, National Youth Service
    1-2  Day has brought together millions of people across the United
    1-3  States to pay tribute to young citizens who have demonstrated
    1-4  compassion, courage, and a commitment to the future by performing
    1-5  volunteer service in their communities; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This year, the State of Texas is proud to join with
    1-7  citizens throughout the Lone Star State in celebrating this special
    1-8  event, which will encourage Texans to recognize the invaluable
    1-9  contributions that our state's young people make each day toward
   1-10  creating a better place in which to work, live, and raise a family;
   1-11  this important occasion will also promote collaboration among our
   1-12  state's many youth volunteer organizations; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Communities and organizations throughout Texas, such
   1-14  as the Science Place in Dallas, will honor National Youth Service
   1-15  Day with award ceremonies, celebrations, and programs that will
   1-16  acknowledge the important role our younger citizens play in shaping
   1-17  the future of our society, and it is indeed fitting that our state
   1-18  join with local communities in this worthwhile endeavor; now,
   1-19  therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-21  Legislature hereby recognize April 25, 1995, as National Youth
   1-22  Service Day and encourage citizens throughout the state to observe
   1-23  this occasion; and, be it further
   1-24        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-1  prepared for the Science Place in Dallas as an expression of high
    2-2  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
