By Dukes H.R. No. 721 74R11686 PAN-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Corey Greathouse, a gifted student at L.B.J. High School, who is 1-3 being recognized as an Outstanding African-American Student by the 1-4 Alpha Kappa Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The sorority is a community-conscious, 1-6 action-oriented organization that is celebrating 75 years of world 1-7 class service this year and has chosen to commemorate this 1-8 significant milestone in its rich history by recognizing 1-9 outstanding African-American high school students within the Austin 1-10 Independent School District who have excelled in the area of 1-11 academic achievement, fine arts, or sports; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. Greathouse is being honored for his 1-13 accomplishments in the fine arts arena, and his remarkable talent 1-14 in this regard has not only served him well, but has also bestowed 1-15 on his many friends at L.B.J. High School a greater appreciation of 1-16 the arts; and 1-17 WHEREAS, This accomplished student has demonstrated 1-18 exceptional artistry, initiative, and maturity in pursuing his 1-19 achievements in the arts, and it is most fitting that he receive 1-20 special legislative recognition for his unique gift; now, 1-21 therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate Corey Greathouse on being named an 1-24 Outstanding African-American Student in the category of fine arts 2-1 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in the 2-2 years to come; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for Mr. Greathouse as an expression of high regard by the 2-5 Texas House of Representatives.
