                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Texans who pursue careers in the field of law
    1-2  enforcement are united in their pledge to provide safety and
    1-3  protection to their fellow citizens, even when the fulfillment of
    1-4  this vital commitment places them in harm's way; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Trooper Bobby Steve Booth, a valued member of the
    1-6  Texas Department of Public Safety, gave his life in the line of
    1-7  duty on June 16, 1993, and his passing is a great loss to his many
    1-8  relatives, friends, and colleagues, as well as to the entire State
    1-9  of Texas; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Throughout his six-year career with the Texas
   1-11  Department of Public Safety, Trooper Booth served the people of the
   1-12  Lone Star State with valor and distinction, earning the respect and
   1-13  admiration of his fellow law enforcement officers; a native of
   1-14  Memphis, Texas, he exemplified in both his personal and
   1-15  professional conduct the singular virtues of integrity and
   1-16  commitment; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Trooper Booth's legacy of heroic dedication and
   1-18  self-sacrifice will endure, and although his presence is gone from
   1-19  us now, this exceptional peace officer will continue to be a source
   1-20  of inspiration to his colleagues who pursue this difficult and
   1-21  noble profession; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Trooper Bobby Steve
   1-24  Booth and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family:
    2-1  to his wife, Linda Renee Booth; to his sons, Brian Steve Booth and
    2-2  Brady Clark Booth; to his parents, Bobby Ray and Barbara Ann Booth;
    2-3  to his brothers, Stacey Booth and Shane Booth; and to the many
    2-4  other relatives and friends of this distinguished Texan; and, be it
    2-5  further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-7  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
    2-8  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
    2-9  Trooper Bobby Steve Booth.
