                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Mary Cobb is retiring from her post on the
    1-2  Richardson Independent School District (RISD) Board of Trustees,
    1-3  drawing to a close a distinguished 12-year tenure with the board;
    1-4  and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The dedicated parent of two children, Brian and Amy,
    1-6  Mrs. Cobb has long played an active role in the education of area
    1-7  students, having shared her expertise as the president of a number
    1-8  of area PTAs as well as the National Federation of Urban and
    1-9  Suburban School Districts, and she also has held numerous
   1-10  leadership positions during her years on the board; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, In addition, Mrs. Cobb has given generously of her
   1-12  time and talent to benefit the city's YMCA Board and Parks and
   1-13  Recreation Commission and has been awarded a National PTA Life
   1-14  Membership by the RISD Council of PTAs in recognition of her myriad
   1-15  contributions; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Mary Cobb has greatly enhanced the education of
   1-17  countless young Texans during her many years of service to the
   1-18  schoolchildren of Richardson and it is appropriate that she be
   1-19  recognized for her significant efforts in this regard; now,
   1-20  therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby honor Mary Cobb on the occasion of her
   1-23  retirement from the Richardson Independent School District Board of
   1-24  Trustees and commend her for her valuable service.
