                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Shawn Phillip Glover on his noteworthy achievement of ascending to
    1-3  the rank of Eagle Scout; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, This exceptional young man has demonstrated
    1-5  exemplary dedication to the high ideals of scouting and has shown
    1-6  commendable perseverance in the pursuit of his goals; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is an extremely rare
    1-8  honor, bestowed on less than two percent of those who enter the
    1-9  scouting movement, and by successfully fulfilling those demanding
   1-10  requirements, Shawn Phillip Glover has achieved a truly remarkable
   1-11  feat; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Glover has been a positive role model to
   1-13  his fellow scouts in Troop 580, exhibiting outstanding leadership
   1-14  as patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, troop historian, and
   1-15  troop quartermaster; in his unrelenting pursuit of excellence, he
   1-16  has earned 26 merit badges and also was awarded the Arrow of Light
   1-17  and membership in the Order of the Arrow; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Determined to take full advantage of the many
   1-19  opportunities scouting has to offer, this dynamic young man has
   1-20  attended the 1993 National B.S.A. Jamboree, hiked the Vicksburg
   1-21  National Military Parks and the Petit Jean trails, and received
   1-22  Golden Acorn training; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, In a traditional ceremony of the Eagle Court of
   1-24  Honor, Eagle Scout Glover was awarded his silver insignia on April
    2-1  22, 1995, becoming the 50th member of his troop to reach that
    2-2  distinguished rank during its 25-year history, and he is indeed
    2-3  deserving of special legislative recognition on the occasion of
    2-4  this outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby commend Shawn Phillip Glover on his noteworthy
    2-7  accomplishment in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and, be it
    2-8  further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-10  prepared for Eagle Scout Glover as an expression of high regard by
   2-11  the Texas House of Representatives.
