No. 805 74R12380 KMP-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Each year, the Corporate Fund for Children sponsors 1-2 the Best of Texas Annual Conference and Gala awards ceremony to 1-3 recognize innovative and successful programs that are helping to 1-4 make the Lone Star State a better place for Texas children and 1-5 their families; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers from across the state have 1-7 created and implemented programs to prevent teen pregnancy, protect 1-8 Texas children from violent crime, and care for children so that 1-9 their parents can work outside the home; with the assistance of the 1-10 Corporate Fund for Children, an organization that provides 1-11 financial assistance to community-based children's groups, Texans 1-12 have been able to solve many of the most pressing social and 1-13 economic problems facing our society's youngest citizens today; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A joint effort of corporate sponsors, charitable 1-15 foundations, and state and federal agencies, the Corporate Fund for 1-16 Children was recognized in 1984 as one of the most successful 1-17 organizations of its kind by the President's Task Force on Private 1-18 Sector Initiatives; over the years, the association has 1-19 collaborated with private groups throughout Texas to establish some 1-20 of the most inventive and successful children's programs in the 1-21 nation; and 1-22 WHEREAS, The Corporate Fund for Children and the noteworthy 1-23 organizations it has designated as the "Best of Texas" have made 1-24 many invaluable contributions toward improving the quality of life 2-1 for infants, children, young people, and parents throughout the 2-2 State of Texas, and it is fitting that they be given special 2-3 legislative commendation for their continuing contributions in this 2-4 regard; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby honor the Corporate Fund for Children and the 2-7 1995 Best of Texas award winners for their exemplary work in behalf 2-8 of Texas children and their families; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for the Corporate Fund for Children as an expression of 2-11 gratitude and highest regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
