                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, May 15, 1995, is indeed an auspicious occasion for a
    1-2  number of low-income elderly and disabled citizens of Houston for
    1-3  on this day The Salvation Army William Booth Garden Apartments will
    1-4  open its doors for the first time in a special dedication ceremony
    1-5  that is certain to provide its new residents with a hospitable
    1-6  welcome to their lovely new home; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Named for the founder of The Salvation Army, William
    1-8  Booth, the complex is cosponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing
    1-9  and Urban Development and The Salvation Army, and all of its 64
   1-10  units have been specially constructed to meet the needs of senior
   1-11  citizens and disabled individuals capable of self-care; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A $3.5 million project, the apartments are certain
   1-13  to enhance the quality of life for its residents and provide them
   1-14  with the security, independence, and comfort they so richly
   1-15  deserve; now, therefore, be it
   1-16        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-17  Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of The Salvation Army
   1-18  William Booth Garden Apartments, commend the U.S. Department of
   1-19  Housing and Urban Development and The Salvation Army for their
   1-20  diligence in bringing this worthy project to fruition, and extend
   1-21  sincere best wishes to the apartments' new occupants for much
   1-22  happiness in their new lodgings; and, be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-24  prepared as a memento to commemorate this grand event as an
    2-1  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
