                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
    1-2  who have shared 50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage is a
    1-3  truly memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Homer and Theresa Lowe, longtime residents of
    1-5  Midland, recently commemorated one such event in their lives when
    1-6  they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a Western tea
    1-7  held in their honor at the Suburban Lions Club and hosted by their
    1-8  children; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mr. Lowe and the former Theresa Lowry exchanged
   1-10  their wedding vows on March 12, 1945, at a ceremony held in
   1-11  Carlsbad, New Mexico; the couple has lived in Midland throughout
   1-12  their married life, including 47 years in the same house, and are
   1-13  esteemed residents of their community who remain active members of
   1-14  the First Baptist Church, Midland Masonic Lodge 623 AF&AM, and
   1-15  Midland Chapter #253 of the Order of the Eastern Star; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Mr. Lowe was employed with the Midland Fire
   1-17  Department until his retirement in January 1982, while his wife
   1-18  devoted much of her life toward building a warm and nurturing home
   1-19  for the couple's children, J. Allen, Rebekah, and Lavonya; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Since exchanging their vows half a century ago,
   1-21  Mr. and Mrs. Lowe have welcomed seven grandchildren into their
   1-22  family, and today the couple enjoys an enduring relationship that
   1-23  has grown in love and mutual respect with each passing year; the
   1-24  Lowes are a genuine source of delight and inspiration to the many
    2-1  friends with whom they have shared the richness of their life
    2-2  together, and they are indeed worthy of the highest praise and
    2-3  recognition as they celebrate this significant milestone in their
    2-4  marriage; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby congratulate Homer and Theresa Lowe of Midland
    2-7  on the joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and
    2-8  extend warmest best wishes for many more years of continued
    2-9  happiness; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-11  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lowe as an expression of high regard by
   2-12  the Texas House of Representatives.
