                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The golden wedding anniversary of two outstanding
    1-2  Texans is indeed a joyous occasion worthy of special legislative
    1-3  recognition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Donald O. Crookham of Conroe recently
    1-5  celebrated 50 years of matrimonial happiness at a reception hosted
    1-6  by their children and grandchildren at the Trinity Presbyterian
    1-7  Church in Midland; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Donald Crookham and the former Tomy Ayres were
    1-9  married on February 3, 1945, at the First Presbyterian Church in
   1-10  Midland, and they resided for many years in this historic city
   1-11  where they remained active in the religious life of the community
   1-12  following their nuptials as charter members of both St. Andrews
   1-13  Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas with a degree
   1-15  in business administration, Mr. Crookham enjoyed a successful
   1-16  36-year tenure with the Superior Oil Company at the company's
   1-17  facilities in Midland and in Conroe; Mrs. Crookham, who attended
   1-18  Texas Tech University, also enjoyed a rewarding career in the oil
   1-19  industry as a valued employee of Texas Oil and Gas of Midland and
   1-20  Mitchell Energy of The Woodlands; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The Crookhams are the proud parents of two beloved
   1-22  children, Donna Whiles of Midland and James Crookham of Corpus
   1-23  Christi, and in recent years they have witnessed their close-knit
   1-24  family grow to include six beautiful grandchildren; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, This delightful couple currently make their home in
    2-2  Conroe where they have become cherished members of the community
    2-3  and are active in the First Presbyterian Church; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, For half a century, Donald and Tomy Crookham have
    2-5  enjoyed a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times
    2-6  and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of
    2-7  mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage has long been a
    2-8  source of inspiration to the many friends and relatives of this
    2-9  fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-11  Legislature hereby congratulate Donald and Tomy Crookham on the
   2-12  momentous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to
   2-13  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the years to
   2-14  come; and, be it further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-16  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Crookham as an expression of highest
   2-17  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
