R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
1-2 who have shared 50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage is a
1-3 truly memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, George and Jane Wolf, longtime residents of Midland,
1-5 recently commemorated one such event in their lives when they
1-6 celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a reception held in
1-7 the parlor of St. Ann's Catholic Church and hosted by members of
1-8 their family; the reception was followed by a mass at the church
1-9 and a family dinner at the Petroleum Club; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Mr. Wolf and the former Jane Carolyn Fervoy
1-11 exchanged their wedding vows on March 10, 1945, at a ceremony held
1-12 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where
1-13 Mr. Wolf was an esteemed employee of the United States Aeronautical
1-14 Chart Plant; and
1-15 WHEREAS, In 1959, the couple embarked on a new adventure
1-16 together and relocated to the Lone Star State; Mrs. Wolf devoted
1-17 herself to building a warm and nurturing home for the couple's four
1-18 children, Barbara, John, Carolyn, and Suzanne, while her husband
1-19 worked with the Planning and Zoning Department for the City of
1-20 Midland; and
1-21 WHEREAS, Since exchanging their vows half a century ago,
1-22 Mr. and Mrs. Wolf have welcomed eight grandchildren into their
1-23 family, and today the couple enjoys an enduring relationship that
1-24 has grown in love and mutual respect with each passing year; the
2-1 Wolfs are a genuine source of delight and inspiration to the many
2-2 friends with whom they have shared the richness of their life
2-3 together, and they are indeed worthy of the highest praise and
2-4 recognition as they celebrate this significant milestone in their
2-5 marriage; now, therefore, be it
2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
2-7 Legislature hereby congratulate George and Jane Wolf of Midland on
2-8 the joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend
2-9 warmest best wishes for many more years of continued happiness;
2-10 and, be it further
2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Wolf as an expression of high regard by
2-13 the Texas House of Representatives.
