                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is privileged to
    1-2  honor Mr. Jerry Love of Abilene, Texas, a distinguished businessman
    1-3  and civic leader; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, He has been widely recognized for the many
    1-5  leadership roles he has filled at the local, regional, and
    1-6  statewide levels; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, He has devoted himself to the advancement of the
    1-8  arts in his community and throughout our state, especially through
    1-9  his service in many capacities, including president of the Abilene
   1-10  Fine Arts Museum; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, He served as chairman of the campaign that restored
   1-12  the historic landmark, the Grace Hotel in Abilene, Texas, through a
   1-13  consortium of the Abilene Fine Arts Museum and the Abilene
   1-14  Preservation League; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The beautiful five-million-dollar Grace Cultural
   1-16  Center in Abilene became a reality to house the Abilene Fine Arts
   1-17  Museum, the Historical Museum, and the Children's Participatory
   1-18  Museum, a project of the Junior League of Abilene; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, He has continuously provided leadership for the
   1-20  Abilene Chamber of Commerce, including serving as chairman of the
   1-21  Leadership Abilene in 1983-1984; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, The Abilene Cultural Affairs Mayfest Celebration
   1-23  became a success largely because of his chairmanship; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, He served as the charter president of the Abilene
    2-2  North Rotary Club from November 1984 to June 1985, hosted Group
    2-3  Study Exchange teams, organized many fund-raising projects for the
    2-4  Rotary International Foundation, and was cited by this
    2-5  international service organization for his distinguished record of
    2-6  accomplishments; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, He is a life member of the Abilene Jaycees and was
    2-8  chairman of the board, president, treasurer, director, and project
    2-9  chairman for numerous worthwhile community projects and received
   2-10  innumerable awards as presidential advisor; and
   2-11        WHEREAS, He has provided leadership for the Abilene Alliance
   2-12  for Intercollegiate Development, the American Heart Association,
   2-13  the Taylor County Cancer Society, the United Way, the Abilene
   2-14  Industrial Foundation, the Abilene Boys Club, the YWCA, Abilene
   2-15  Boys Ranch, the Center for Non-Profit Management, and other helping
   2-16  agencies; and
   2-17        WHEREAS, He has been awarded Eagle Scout, Paul Harris Rotary
   2-18  Fellowship, and Outstanding Young Man of America and was selected
   2-19  as one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans in 1987; and
   2-20        WHEREAS, He is a graduate of Odessa High School, Lubbock
   2-21  Christian College, and Abilene Christian University and became a
   2-22  certified public accountant in 1978 and a certified financial
   2-23  planner in 1988; and
   2-24        WHEREAS, He is a stockholder director of the prestigious
   2-25  regional certified public accounting firm of Davis, Kinard &
    3-1  Company of Abilene, Texas; and
    3-2        WHEREAS, He is happily married to his very talented wife,
    3-3  Rozlyn, and has two children, Joshua Love and Amber Love; and
    3-4        WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been a frequent
    3-5  speaker to civic and service clubs and a highly qualified resource
    3-6  to news programs for both radio and television stations regarding
    3-7  tax law and has assisted without charge many nonprofit
    3-8  organizations; and
    3-9        WHEREAS, He has assisted in many political campaigns as a
   3-10  volunteer and has served the City of Abilene through the Landmarks
   3-11  Commission, the Entryway Beautification Committee, and the Economic
   3-12  Development Task Force; now, therefore, be it
   3-13        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th
   3-14  Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate Jerry Love on
   3-15  his exceptional career and as a dedicated leader and volunteer in
   3-16  our great state and nation; and, be it further
   3-17        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   3-18  prepared for Mr. Love and his wife and family as an expression of
   3-19  gratitude and esteem by the Texas House of Representatives.
