                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
    1-2  in commending the outstanding volunteer service of Claire A.
    1-3  Johnson of Abilene; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, This outstanding professional has distinguished
    1-5  herself over many years as a community, regional, state, and
    1-6  national volunteer; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, She is a graduate of Denton Senior High School in
    1-8  Denton, Texas, holds a B.B.A. degree from North Texas State
    1-9  University as an honor graduate, and has completed graduate work in
   1-10  counseling at Abilene Christian University; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, She is married to a very successful dentist, John L.
   1-12  Johnson, and they are blessed to have two married sons and are
   1-13  members of the St. James Methodist Church of Abilene; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, She has taught in the De Kalb County School System
   1-15  of Atlanta, Georgia, and has served as a legal secretary and
   1-16  currently serves as vice president of the John L. Johnson, D.D.S.
   1-17  dental practice; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, She has provided leadership for the Abilene
   1-19  Independent School District on the Citizens Advisory Board and as
   1-20  the Parent-Teacher Association president and has actively worked
   1-21  for an outstanding educational system; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, She has served on the Abilene Chamber of Commerce
   1-23  Legislative and Military Affairs Committees, the West Central Texas
    2-1  Council of Governments Drug and Alcohol Abuse Committee, the
    2-2  Abilene Girls' Home Board of Directors, and the Hospice Auxiliary;
    2-3  and
    2-4        WHEREAS, This outstanding public servant has chaired numerous
    2-5  political campaigns at the city, county, and state levels as well
    2-6  as serving as a delegate to the Texas and National Federation of
    2-7  Republican Women's conventions and as president of the Taylor
    2-8  County Republican Women and vice district director of the Texas
    2-9  Federation of Republican Women; and
   2-10        WHEREAS, Through her dedicated volunteer service she has
   2-11  brought great recognition to her city, state, and nation; now,
   2-12  therefore, be it
   2-13        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-14  Legislature hereby salute and congratulate this outstanding Texan
   2-15  for her many notable achievements; and, be it further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-17  prepared for Ms. Johnson and her husband and family as an
   2-18  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
