                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Roberto Perez II, an outstanding senior at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo
    1-3  High School, for his exemplary record of academic excellence
    1-4  throughout his scholastic career; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, While a student at the elementary and middle school
    1-6  levels, Mr. Perez demonstrated the exceptional level of dedication
    1-7  to his studies that has remained the hallmark of all his academic
    1-8  endeavors; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, This fine young man has pursued a variety of
   1-10  interests during his four years at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High
   1-11  School, having served his fellow students as vice president of the
   1-12  Student Congress, as president, vice president, and treasurer of
   1-13  the Student Council, and as vice president of the National Honor
   1-14  Society; he also has exhibited superb athletic ability as a
   1-15  four-year member of the Mighty Bear Varsity golf team; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Among the many accolades garnered by Mr. Perez
   1-17  during his high school career are recognition as Pharr Sunrise
   1-18  Kiwanis Student of the Month and Rotary Student of the Month,
   1-19  membership in the National Honor Society, and a listing in Who's
   1-20  Who Among American High School Students; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Mr. Perez plans to pursue his higher education at
   1-22  The University of Texas--Pan American and, after attaining his
   1-23  history degree and teaching certification, he intends to return to
   1-24  his alma mater to serve the needs of his community as a teacher and
    2-1  administrator; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Roberto Perez II has
    2-3  maintained the highest possible standards of excellence, and his
    2-4  inspirational achievements are indeed worthy of special legislative
    2-5  recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-7  Legislature hereby commend Roberto Perez II for his many
    2-8  exceptional accomplishments and extend sincere best wishes to him
    2-9  for continued success in the future; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-11  prepared for Mr. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
   2-12  House of Representatives.
