H.R. No. 854 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The second week of May 1995 is one of the happiest 1-2 in the life of Brian K. Jackson; and 1-3 WHEREAS, Today, May 8, 1995, Brian celebrates his 25th 1-4 birthday; and, on Saturday, May 13, 1995, he will become a college 1-5 graduate; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Brian has served as a Mickey Leland Center 1-7 legislative intern during the 74th Regular Session of the Texas 1-8 House of Representatives and as an aide to the chair of the Harris 1-9 County delegation, State Representative Senfronia Thompson; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Brian has coordinated the activities and meetings of 1-11 the Harris County delegation; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Brian is well-liked and popular with many 1-13 legislative staff members and is affectionately known by many 1-14 members of the Harris County delegation as "Big Tiny"; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Brian has been Representative Thompson's most 1-16 popular staff member with the many schoolchildren from District 141 1-17 who have visited the State Capitol; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Brian is an enthusiastic worker who has proven that 1-19 he can endure the long hours of the legislature without falling 1-20 asleep; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Brian is currently completing his career as an 1-22 undergraduate student in print journalism and political science; 1-23 and 2-1 WHEREAS, Brian has received many honors as a student, 2-2 including the Greyhound Scholarship, the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity 2-3 Scholarship, and the Houston Chapter of the Association of Black 2-4 Journalists Scholarship; and 2-5 WHEREAS, Brian has served as a reporter for both the TSU 2-6 Herald and the Liberator Journal; and 2-7 WHEREAS, Brian will receive his bachelor of arts degree from 2-8 Texas Southern University on Saturday, May 13, 1995; now, 2-9 therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives of the 74th 2-11 Texas Legislature hereby extend best wishes to Brian Jackson on his 2-12 25th birthday and congratulations on his graduation from Texas 2-13 Southern University; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-15 prepared for Mr. Jackson as an expression of high esteem and best 2-16 wishes by the Texas House of Representatives.
