H.R. No. 859 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Larry Salisbury on his exceptional accomplishments as head coach of 1-3 the girls' basketball team at Salado High School; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Risingsun, Ohio, Mr. Salisbury earned 1-5 his bachelor's degree from Adrian College and continued his higher 1-6 education at the University of Cincinnati, where he attained his 1-7 master's degree and maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average; 1-8 and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Salisbury's storied coaching career spans 28 1-10 years and a variety of sports, and during that time none of his 1-11 teams has ever endured a losing season; his record in 13 years of 1-12 serving as a girls' basketball coach is a phenomenal 296 wins 1-13 against only 97 defeats; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The 1994-1995 season was one of Coach Salisbury's 1-15 finest, as he helmed his Salado High School girls' squad to the 1-16 District 26-2A championship, a regional semifinal appearance in the 1-17 University Interscholastic League Class 2A tournament, and an 1-18 overall record of 28-3; for his sterling efforts, Coach Salisbury 1-19 was named District 26-2A coach of the year; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Coach Salisbury has been supported in all his 1-21 endeavors by his devoted wife, Marilyn, and by their two children, 1-22 Kurt and Kyle; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Larry Salisbury has instilled in his young players 1-24 at Salado High School the pride, discipline, and work ethic 2-1 necessary to successfully compete at the highest level and his 2-2 significant accomplishments in this regard are truly worthy of 2-3 special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby commend Larry Salisbury on his exceptional 2-6 achievements as head coach of the Salado High School girls' 2-7 basketball team and extend sincere best wishes to him for continued 2-8 success in the future; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Mr. Salisbury as an expression of high regard by the 2-11 Texas House of Representatives.
