                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Big Spring resident Martha Baeza on
    1-2  October 18, 1994, at the age of 67, has brought a great loss to the
    1-3  many relatives and friends of this outstanding Texan; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Born in Presidio on June 2, 1927, this exceptional
    1-5  woman lived in Anton before moving to Big Spring in 1990, and over
    1-6  the years she made many invaluable contributions to the betterment
    1-7  of her community and state; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Dedicating much of her life to building a warm and
    1-9  nurturing home for her family, Mrs. Baeza enjoyed a happy and
   1-10  successful marriage with her husband Manuel and adored and
   1-11  cherished her 11 stepchildren; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mrs. Baeza was a devoted member of the community of
   1-13  faith at the Church of Christ and will be long remembered for the
   1-14  compassion, kindness, and charity she brought to every facet of her
   1-15  life; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Though her presence is gone from us now, the memory
   1-17  of this remarkable woman will continue to live on in the hearts of
   1-18  all those whose lives she touched during her years on this earth;
   1-19  now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-21  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Martha Baeza and
   1-22  extend profound sympathy to the members of her family:  to her
   1-23  husband, Manuel B. Baeza of Big Spring; to her stepsons, Pablo
   1-24  Baeza of Odessa and Robert Baeza, Jerry Baeza, and Manuel Baeza,
    2-1  Jr., of Big Spring; to her stepdaughters, Virginia Aguirre of
    2-2  Phoenix, Arizona, Alicia Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sara
    2-3  Carrasco of Pecos, Mary Helen Requena of Midland, and Viola
    2-4  Salgado, Frances Pesina, and Rosa Vega of Big Spring; to her
    2-5  sister, Paz De Martinez of Ojinaga, Mexico; and to her many other
    2-6  relatives and friends; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
    2-9  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-10  Martha Baeza.
