                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Alpine native Julian Fierro, Jr., on
    1-2  October 8, 1994, at the age of 61, has brought a profound loss to
    1-3  the many friends, relatives, and colleagues of this distinguished
    1-4  Texan; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Born on March 3, 1933, in Alpine, where he lived
    1-6  most of his life, Mr. Fierro was a patriotic American who answered
    1-7  his nation's call to arms in 1952, serving in the United States
    1-8  Army with honor and distinction until 1964; he was an employee of
    1-9  the local school system and made many important contributions to
   1-10  his community; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mr. Fierro was also a devoted family man who enjoyed
   1-12  a richly rewarding marriage with his wife Margaret, who took
   1-13  immense pride in his children, Sandra, Leroy, Oscar, Danny, Robert,
   1-14  and Joel, and who adored and cherished his six grandchildren; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Those who had the privilege of knowing Mr. Fierro
   1-16  will not quickly forget the strength, commitment, and determination
   1-17  this exceptional man brought to every facet of his life; although
   1-18  his presence is gone from us now, his memory will continue to live
   1-19  on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched during his
   1-20  years on this earth; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Julian Fierro, Jr.,
   1-23  and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family:  to his
   1-24  wife, Margaret Fierro of Alpine; to his daughter, Sandra Beasley of
    2-1  Terrell; to his sons, Leroy Fierro of Colorado Springs, Colorado,
    2-2  and Oscar Fierro, Danny Fierro, Robert Fierro, and Joel Fierro of
    2-3  Alpine; to his mother, Paula Fierro of Alpine; to his sisters,
    2-4  Ramona Ramirez of Marathon, Lupana Dominguez of Ft. Davis, Rosa
    2-5  Bueno of Odessa, and Teresa Vega and Mary Valencia of Alpine; to
    2-6  his brothers, Joe Fierro of Midland and Felipe Fierro and Juan
    2-7  Fierro of Alpine; to his grandchildren, Crystal Beasley, Celeste
    2-8  Beasley, Samuel Beasley, Gabriel Fierro, Leroy Fierro, Jr., and
    2-9  Julian Fierro III; and his many other relatives and friends; and,
   2-10  be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-12  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-13  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-14  Julian Fierro, Jr.
