                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Eduardo Hartnett on September 3,
    1-2  1994, at the age of 88, brought a great loss to the many friends
    1-3  and relatives of this fine man; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born on February 27, 1906, in
    1-5  Fort Davis and remained a lifelong resident of the community he was
    1-6  proud to call home; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, The type of rugged individualist that has long
    1-8  contributed to the mystique of the Lone Star State, Mr. Hartnett
    1-9  was a quintessential Texan who worked diligently throughout his
   1-10  lifetime as a valued employee of numerous ranches in the Big Bend
   1-11  region; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. Hartnett also was renowned for his talent as a
   1-13  chef, having dished up thousands of tasty meals for hungry diners
   1-14  over the course of 50 years of cooking at Bloys Campmeeting; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, In recent years, Mr. Hartnett took on a new role in
   1-16  life as the patriarch of his close-knit family; blessed with three
   1-17  children, Ronnie, Dick, and Fred, he also enjoyed spending time
   1-18  with the next two generations of his family, which included eight
   1-19  grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren at the time of his
   1-20  passing; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Eduardo Hartnett was a valued member of his
   1-22  community whose presence brightened the lives of his family and
   1-23  friends; though he has been deeply mourned, his memory lives on in
   1-24  the hearts of all who were privileged to know him during his years
    2-1  on this earth; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-3  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eduardo Hartnett and
    2-4  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:  to his
    2-5  daughter, Ronnie Pattillo of Alpine; to his sons, Dick Hartnett of
    2-6  Fort Davis and Fred Hartnett of Vacaville, California; to his
    2-7  sisters, Lucy Valverde, Victorina Ceniceros, and Ida Belluchi, all
    2-8  of El Paso; to his brothers, Tommy Hartnett, Ramon Hartnett, and
    2-9  Julio Hartnett, all of Fort Davis, and Jim Hartnett of San Antonio;
   2-10  and to his eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and,
   2-11  be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-14  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-15  Eduardo Hartnett.
