                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, May 17, 1995, has been designated Robertson County
    1-2  Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony Day in honor of the law enforcement
    1-3  officers whose devotion to duty caused them to make the supreme
    1-4  sacrifice in service to their fellowman; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The law enforcement profession has become
    1-6  increasingly dangerous over the past decade, and nearly 1,700 of
    1-7  the brave men and women who provide safety and protection to their
    1-8  fellow citizens have lost their lives in the line of duty during
    1-9  that time; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Officers whose names appear on the final roll call
   1-11  for 1994 include Stephen G. Steward of the Texas Department of
   1-12  Criminal Justice; David M. Healy, Michael P. Roman, and Guy P.
   1-13  Gaddis of the Houston Police Department; Thomas D.  Bond of the
   1-14  Dallas Police Department; Ricky A. Yates and Jerry Foster of the
   1-15  Harris County Sheriff's Department; Troy M. Hogue and Daniel A.
   1-16  Ross of the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas;
   1-17  William I. Maldonado II of the San Antonio I.S.D. Police Force;
   1-18  Paul M. Pytel of the San Antonio Park Rangers; Jesse D.  Moorman of
   1-19  the Fort Worth Police Department; Billy K. Roberts of the Hardin
   1-20  County Sheriff's Department; and Craig M. Hanking of the Arlington
   1-21  Police Department; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, The Robertson County Peace Officers Association has
   1-23  set aside this special day to pay tribute to the memory of these
   1-24  brave individuals as well as the many other officers who have
    2-1  fallen in the line of duty throughout the history of the law
    2-2  enforcement profession; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Those who serve in the field of law enforcement are
    2-4  among the most dedicated of all public servants, often risking life
    2-5  and limb to ensure the safety of those they are sworn to protect,
    2-6  and this event provides an opportune time to remember and honor
    2-7  these fallen officers for their remarkable service to their fellow
    2-8  citizens; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-10  Legislature hereby recognize May 17, 1995, as Robertson County
   2-11  Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony Day; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the Robertson County Peace Officers Association and
   2-14  that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it
   2-15  do so in memory of those who gave their lives in the performance of
   2-16  their duties.
