                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Kim McGruder for her superb athletic achievements during the 1995
    1-3  season as a member of the North Shore High School track team; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, At the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class
    1-5  5A Region III finals, this exceptional athlete, the defending state
    1-6  champion in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints, breezed to victory
    1-7  in those events to advance to state finals competition; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Ms. McGruder also excels as a member of the North
    1-9  Shore 400-meter relay team, for which she runs the anchor leg, and
   1-10  her exemplary leadership and phenomenal performance in that event
   1-11  at the regional finals enabled her team to claim a well-deserved
   1-12  berth in the state finals in Austin; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Throughout her storied career, Kim McGruder has
   1-14  combined her considerable physical skills with true championship
   1-15  heart to become a dominating performer in her sport at the high
   1-16  school level; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Ms. McGruder truly exemplifies the qualities of
   1-18  dedication, ability, and teamwork that are at the core of all
   1-19  successful athletic endeavors, and her many accomplishments in this
   1-20  regard are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; now,
   1-21  therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby congratulate Kim McGruder of North Shore High
   1-24  School on her magnificent achievements at the 1995 UIL Class 5A
    2-1  Region III track finals, which included helping her school's
    2-2  400-meter relay team to secure a place in the state championship
    2-3  meet, and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued success
    2-4  in the future; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for Ms. McGruder as an expression of high regard by the
    2-7  Texas House of Representatives.
