                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The recent untimely passing of Patty J. "Wendy"
    1-2  Gilmore on April 3, 1995, has brought a great loss to the many
    1-3  friends and relatives of this beloved woman; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, She was born in Corpus Christi and was a 1972
    1-5  graduate of Tuloso Midway High School, where she was an outgoing
    1-6  and well-liked student and twirler; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Mrs. Gilmore was an employee at several businesses
    1-8  in the Corpus Christi area during her career, including South Texas
    1-9  Materials, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, and the Walter Rossler Co., and
   1-10  brought to each of those enterprises the tireless work ethic and
   1-11  cheerful demeanor that were the hallmark of all her many efforts;
   1-12  and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A highly motivated and committed individual,
   1-14  Mrs. Gilmore devoted considerable time and energy to such worthy
   1-15  endeavors as the Nueces County Junior Livestock program, the Future
   1-16  Farmers of America, and the Corpus Christi chapter of the National
   1-17  Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), which was chosen to
   1-18  receive the NAWIC Excitement Builder Award during her productive
   1-19  tenure as president; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, She also was a staunch believer in the value of
   1-21  higher education, and was the guiding force behind a fund-raising
   1-22  campaign to create a special scholarship at Texas A&M
   1-23  University--Corpus Christi; and
   1-24        WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family, she took special
    2-1  delight in spending time with her husband, Joel, and their son,
    2-2  Brian; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Patty J. "Wendy" Gilmore was a woman of rare
    2-4  generosity and compassion; although her kind presence and gentle
    2-5  love will be missed by all who knew her, her remarkable spirit will
    2-6  live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives she touched
    2-7  during her time on earth; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-9  Legislature hereby honor the life of Patty J. "Wendy" Gilmore and
   2-10  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
   2-11  husband, Joel Gilmore; to her son, Brian Gilmore; to her mother,
   2-12  June Brunson; to her sister, Linda Williams; and to the many other
   2-13  friends and relatives of this deeply cherished woman; and, be it
   2-14  further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-16  for the members of her family and that when the Texas House of
   2-17  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patty J.
   2-18  "Wendy" Gilmore.
