                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
    1-2  who have shared more than 60 happy and rewarding years of marriage
    1-3  is truly a memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, O. R. and Lela Murriel Lawlis will have the
    1-5  privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives
    1-6  when they celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on June 16,
    1-7  1995; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mr. Lawlis was born in Jones County and Mrs. Lawlis
    1-9  is from Brown County, and they were united in matrimony in 1934 in
   1-10  Brownwood; the couple has enjoyed an enduring relationship that has
   1-11  grown in love and mutual respect with each passing year and that is
   1-12  blessed by the devotion of their beloved daughter, Lynn, and their
   1-13  cherished granddaughter, Malenda; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Making their home in Brown and Callahan counties
   1-15  before settling in Coleman County in 1950, the Lawlises are highly
   1-16  respected members of their community who have worked diligently and
   1-17  enjoyed great success with their farming and ranching enterprises
   1-18  over the past six decades; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Throughout their union, Mr. and Mrs. Lawlis have
   1-20  shared a deep and abiding religious faith, and they have been
   1-21  devout members of the First United Methodist Church of Coleman for
   1-22  45 years; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Their life together has been a source of joy and
   1-24  inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are most
    2-1  deserving of special recognition on this joyous occasion; now,
    2-2  therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-4  Legislature hereby congratulate O. R. and Lela Murriel Lawlis on
    2-5  the occasion of their 61st wedding anniversary and extend to them
    2-6  warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lawlis as an expression of high regard by
    2-9  the Texas House of Representatives.
