                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Honorable Louise Christian has retired from her
    1-2  position as justice of the peace of Precinct 3 in Pecos County,
    1-3  drawing to a close a distinguished career that has spanned 15 years
    1-4  of dedicated public service; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, In recognition of the many significant contributions
    1-6  Judge Christian has made to her community, county officials held a
    1-7  retirement reception in her honor on April 29, 1994; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A former resident of Gaines County, she settled in
    1-9  Iraan in 1977 with her husband, the late Deputy Ward Christian, and
   1-10  they quickly established themselves as industrious and esteemed
   1-11  members of their community; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Judge Christian first ran for, and was elected to,
   1-13  the office of justice of the peace of Pecos County in January 1978
   1-14  and served her fellow citizens with integrity and distinction for
   1-15  15 years; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A wise and thoughtful jurist, her tenure was marked
   1-17  by the utmost fairness and compassion for others that are  the
   1-18  hallmarks of our judicial system; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Throughout her many endeavors, she enjoyed the love
   1-20  and support of her devoted husband and the couple's three fine
   1-21  children, Dwight Dabbs, Paul Dabbs, and Marilyn Christian, and she
   1-22  now delights in the company of five cherished grandchildren; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Judge Christian looks forward to an active
   1-24  retirement; a woman of boundless energy and enthusiasm, she plans
    2-1  to continue working for the benefit of others through her service
    2-2  to various local organizations; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Judge Christian's outstanding service throughout her
    2-4  tenure in office has greatly benefited the State of Texas, and she
    2-5  is indeed deserving of special praise and recognition at this time;
    2-6  now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby honor Judge Louise Christian for her exemplary
    2-9  service to the citizens of Pecos County and extend warmest best
   2-10  wishes to her for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it
   2-11  further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for Judge Christian as an expression of high regard by the
   2-14  Texas House of Representatives.
