No. 910 74R9909 PFG-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Elvira Cobos on October 24, 1994, at 1-2 the age of 89, has brought great sadness to the many friends and 1-3 relatives of this beloved citizen of Alpine; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Ms. Cobos was a native Texan and a lifelong resident 1-5 of this charming city north of the rugged Big Bend country; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A dedicated homemaker, mother, and grandmother, this 1-7 extraordinary woman created a loving environment for her close-knit 1-8 family of seven children, each of whom benefited immeasurably from 1-9 her steady guidance and loving support and who, in turn, brought 1-10 their mother much happiness through their extensive achievements; 1-11 and 1-12 WHEREAS, In recent years, Ms. Cobos watched with joy as her 1-13 family was blessed by the addition of many grandchildren and 1-14 great-grandchildren, who at last count totalled 87 in number; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Throughout her fulfilling life, Elvira Cobos 1-16 endeared herself to others with her remarkable kindness, sincerity, 1-17 and cheerful nature, and the memory of her gentle spirit will long 1-18 endure in the hearts of the many individuals whose lives she 1-19 touched during her years on this earth; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Elvira Cobos and 1-22 extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her 1-23 daughters, Enedina Cobos, Elma C. Macias, Faye C. Leos, and Viola 1-24 C. Voris; to her sons, Jose Cobos, Benito Cobos, and Pat Cobos; and 2-1 to her 32 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren; and, be it 2-2 further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-5 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-6 Elvira Cobos.
