                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Brian David Smith on his outstanding achievement in attaining the
    1-3  lofty rank of Eagle Scout; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout are
    1-5  difficult and are met by only a select few of the many who join the
    1-6  scouting movement; by successfully fulfilling those requirements,
    1-7  Eagle Scout Smith has achieved a truly remarkable feat and has
    1-8  proven himself worthy of wearing the coveted silver eagle badge
    1-9  emblematic of the supreme honor in scouting; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Active in the scouting program for several years,
   1-11  this exceptional young man has demonstrated his worthiness of
   1-12  elevation to this rank by exemplifying scouting's highest ideals
   1-13  and applying the habits and values developed through his
   1-14  participation in the Boy Scouts of America to distinguish himself
   1-15  in all of his endeavors; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, He also has exhibited the leadership, perseverance,
   1-17  and dedication to community service that are the hallmark of an
   1-18  Eagle Scout, and by undertaking and completing a noteworthy service
   1-19  project that will provide a lasting benefit to the community, he
   1-20  completed the final requirements for his acceptance into the ranks
   1-21  of the Eagle Scouts; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A model of responsibility at home and in the
   1-23  community as well as in scouting activities, Eagle Scout Smith has
   1-24  been a continuing source of great pride for his parents and an
    2-1  inspirational example to his fellow scouts, and it gives the
    2-2  members of this body great pleasure to join them and all his
    2-3  friends in bestowing special praise and recognition on this
    2-4  deserving young man; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby congratulate Brian David Smith on his attainment
    2-7  of scouting's highest honor and his acceptance into the elite ranks
    2-8  of the Eagle Scouts; and, be it further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-10  prepared for Eagle Scout Smith as an expression of high regard by
   2-11  the Texas House of Representatives.
