No. 946 74R13329 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Rick Clements has served with pride and distinction 1-2 as president of the Texas Association of Insurance Agents, and his 1-3 outstanding efforts are indeed worthy of highest praise and 1-4 recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Clements grew up in San Antonio 1-6 and Texas City, where he distinguished himself as a student athlete 1-7 in football and track; after graduating from Texas City High 1-8 School, he continued his education at Sam Houston State University 1-9 and the University of Alabama; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He embarked on his noteworthy career in the field of 1-11 insurance in 1977, working with the Houston-based company Texas 1-12 Employers; seven years later, he started his own independent agency 1-13 in Bertram, and it merged with Texas Insurance Agency in 1990; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A former board member and president of the 1-15 Professional Insurance Agents of Texas, Mr. Clements further served 1-16 his profession by conducting classes for Certified Insurance 1-17 Counselors, the National Association of Insurance Women, and 1-18 Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company; this esteemed 1-19 individual also helped to rewrite the property and casualty agents 1-20 licensing exam as well as the Texas Dwelling Fire and Farm & Ranch 1-21 Owners forms; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Throughout his many endeavors, Mr. Clements has 1-23 enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Janice Ruble Clements; 1-24 they are the proud parents of five children, Charissa, Amanda, 2-1 Joshua, Chad, and Emily; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Mr. Clements has earned the respect and admiration 2-3 of his many colleagues in the insurance industry, and his long and 2-4 distinguished record in this vital field will undoubtedly extend to 2-5 his future efforts as well; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby honor Rick Clements for his service as president 2-8 of the Texas Association of Insurance Agents and extend to him best 2-9 wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be 2-10 it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for Mr. Clements as an expression of high regard by the 2-13 Texas House of Representatives.
