                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Riverside High School Rangers boys' basketball
    1-2  team has achieved outstanding success during the 1994-1995 season,
    1-3  winning a district cochampionship, the bi-district, area, and
    1-4  regional championships and a coveted place in the University
    1-5  Interscholastic League Class 5A state tournament; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Although a loss to San Antonio East Central High
    1-7  School in the state class 5A semifinals ended their storybook
    1-8  season, the Rangers left the floor having earned the respect of
    1-9  fans and foes alike and ended the 1994-1995 campaign with a superb
   1-10  record of 27 wins against only nine defeats; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The season's outstanding accomplishments were the
   1-12  result of total dedication to the team concept by members Carlos
   1-13  Arras, Roman Diaz, Issac Ramirez, Reuben Rodriguez, Andy Rubalcaba,
   1-14  Rick Alanis, Tommy Galindo, Willie Pardillo, Mike Ulloa, and
   1-15  Charlie Herrera; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Each team member made significant contributions to
   1-17  the squad's overall success, but several players also attained
   1-18  individual distinction for their exemplary play; Mike Ulloa was
   1-19  named to the All-City team, Reuben Rodriguez placed on the
   1-20  All-Region second team, and Charlie Herrera earned a position on
   1-21  the All-State tournament team; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Outstanding leadership and guidance were supplied by
   1-23  head coach Jim Forbes, who schooled his charges in hardwood
   1-24  fundamentals and instilled in them an unceasing desire for
    2-1  excellence; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, This exemplary group of young men is a source of
    2-3  tremendous pride to the students and faculty of Riverside High
    2-4  School and their supporters in the community, and their exceptional
    2-5  accomplishments are indeed worthy of special legislative
    2-6  recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby congratulate the Riverside High School Rangers
    2-9  boys' basketball team on its outstanding achievements during the
   2-10  1994-1995 season, including the District 2-5A cochampionship and
   2-11  the bi-district, area, and regional championships, and extend
   2-12  sincere best wishes to the team for continued success in the
   2-13  future; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-15  prepared for the team, for its coach, and for prominent display at
   2-16  Riverside High School as an expression of high regard by the Texas
   2-17  House of Representatives.
