R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
1-2 Rebecca Lynn Ford, who has established an exemplary record of
1-3 excellence and academic achievement as a student at Bowie High
1-4 School in Austin; and
1-5 WHEREAS, The daughter of Sharon Roberson and Alan Ford,
1-6 Ms. Ford is a national merit scholar who has earned a number of
1-7 well-deserved honors for her commitment to academic excellence,
1-8 including the IBM Thomas J. Watson Memorial Scholarship,
1-9 designation as a Tracor Scholar, and the Julia Mellenbruch Award
1-10 for Excellence in Foreign Language; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Popular among her peers, she also has maintained a
1-12 busy extracurricular load as vice president of community affairs
1-13 for the senior class, as president of the French Club, as a
1-14 four-year member of the marching and concert band, as an involved
1-15 participant in the orchestra, and as a member of the National Honor
1-16 Society; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Despite her demanding schedule, Ms. Ford elected to
1-18 participate in a legislative internship, in which capacity she
1-19 earned the respect and admiration of all who came to know her for
1-20 her sincere desire to learn more about the legislative process and
1-21 the workings of state government; and
1-22 WHEREAS, Rebecca Ford has demonstrated exceptional
1-23 intelligence, initiative, and maturity in successfully pursuing a
1-24 variety of worthy goals, and she is indeed deserving of special
2-1 legislative recognition for her remarkable achievements in this
2-2 regard; now, therefore, be it
2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca Lynn Ford on the momentous
2-5 occasion of her graduation from Bowie High School and extend to her
2-6 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in all
2-7 future endeavors; and, be it further
2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-9 prepared for Ms. Ford as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2-10 House of Representatives.
