No. 966 74R5042 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Matthew Charles Williams on his noteworthy achievement in ascending 1-3 to the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout; and 1-4 WHEREAS, This exceptional young man has demonstrated 1-5 exemplary dedication to the high ideals of scouting and commendable 1-6 perseverance in the pursuit of his goals; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is an extremely rare 1-8 honor, bestowed on less than two percent of those who enter the 1-9 scouting movement, and by successfully fulfilling those demanding 1-10 requirements, Matthew Charles Williams has achieved a truly 1-11 remarkable feat; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Matthew Charles Williams has been an inspirational 1-13 example to his fellow scouts in Troop 7, exhibiting outstanding 1-14 leadership as senior patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, patrol 1-15 leader, chaplain aide, and historian; in his unrelenting pursuit of 1-16 excellence, he has earned 26 merit badges and was awarded the Order 1-17 of the Arrow; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Balancing his dedication to scouting with a 1-19 comparable commitment to other pursuits, this dynamic young man has 1-20 achieved success as a band member and drama enthusiast at McAllen 1-21 High School, where he is an honor student; he also maintains a high 1-22 level of physical discipline as an active participant in a variety 1-23 of school-related sports; and 1-24 WHEREAS, In a traditional ceremony of the Eagle Court of 2-1 Honor, Eagle Scout Williams was awarded his silver insignia on 2-2 January 16, 1995, and he is indeed deserving of special legislative 2-3 recognition on the occasion of this outstanding achievement; now, 2-4 therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby commend Matthew Charles Williams on his 2-7 noteworthy accomplishment in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; 2-8 and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Eagle Scout Williams as an expression of high regard 2-11 by the Texas House of Representatives.
