                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Alvaro Hernandez on February 11,
    1-2  1995, at the age of 61, brought a great loss to the family and many
    1-3  friends of this distinguished Texan; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A resident of San Antonio, Mr. Hernandez was born
    1-5  March 30, 1933, and for 40 years he enjoyed a deeply fulfilling
    1-6  marriage to his lovely wife and confidant, Sonia; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, The Hernandezes' union grew with love and mutual
    1-8  respect with each passing year and was blessed with the births of
    1-9  four beloved sons, Jose Alvaro, Flavio, Sergio, and Oscar; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, These proud parents sought to instill in their
   1-11  offspring the traditional family values of hard work, achievement,
   1-12  and community involvement, and they were amply rewarded for their
   1-13  efforts by the successes of each of their children; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Over the years, their close-knit family continued to
   1-15  grow, and more recently Mr. Hernandez delighted in the company of
   1-16  four cherished grandsons, Emmanuel Alvaro, David Michael, John
   1-17  William, and Jose Alvaro "Bud" II; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Mr. Hernandez will be fondly remembered as a warm
   1-19  and caring man who was deeply devoted to his family and many
   1-20  friends, and he always made time in his busy day to offer
   1-21  fellowship to others; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, This exceptional gentleman touched the lives of many
   1-23  people during his lifetime, and, though his presence has been
   1-24  deeply missed, his memory has endured in the hearts and minds of
    2-1  all those who came to know and love him, and most assuredly, he
    2-2  will be with his son, Oscar, in spirit when this commendable young
    2-3  man receives his doctor of jurisprudence degree from St. Mary's
    2-4  University School of Law on May 20, 1995; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alvaro Hernandez and
    2-7  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:  to his wife,
    2-8  Sonia Hernandez; to his four sons, Jose Alvaro, Flavio, Sergio, and
    2-9  Oscar; to his four grandsons, Emmanuel Alvaro, David Michael, John
   2-10  William, and Jose Alvaro "Bud" II; and to his many other friends
   2-11  and relatives; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the members of the Hernandez family and that when the
   2-14  Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in
   2-15  memory of Alvaro Hernandez.
