                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  the Jacksboro High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) Range and
    1-3  Pasture team on winning first place in the 1995 national
    1-4  competition; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Determined to claim the team championship in this
    1-6  year's competition in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, these talented young
    1-7  men rose to the occasion, becoming the first squad from Jacksboro
    1-8  High School ever to take top national honors; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Team members Ira Owen, Will Mathis, Blain Rumage,
   1-10  Nathan White, and Chester Zielinski each made significant
   1-11  contributions to the group's overall success, and Ira Owen and Will
   1-12  Mathis earned individual honors by placing first and second in
   1-13  terms of points accrued; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Coach Joe Ray Burkett labored tirelessly to
   1-15  encourage his young charges and assist them in realizing their
   1-16  dream of attaining a national championship; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, These exemplary young men are a source of tremendous
   1-18  pride to the students and faculty of Jacksboro High School as well
   1-19  as their many supporters in the community, and their exceptional
   1-20  achievements in this prestigious competition have indeed earned
   1-21  them special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby congratulate the Jacksboro High School FFA Range
   1-24  and Pasture team on its victory in 1995 national competition and
    2-1  extend to the members of the team sincere best wishes for continued
    2-2  success in all future endeavors; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-4  prepared for the team members and their coach and for prominent
    2-5  display at Jacksboro High School as an expression of high regard by
    2-6  the Texas House of Representatives.
