                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the deep shock and
    1-2  sorrow that have accompanied the news of the tragic death of United
    1-3  States Secret Service Agent Cindy Campbell Brown, who was killed in
    1-4  the line of duty in the devastating explosion of the federal
    1-5  building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Only six weeks before, this exuberant young woman
    1-7  was the focus of a celebration of joy when she became the bride of
    1-8  Special Agent Ron Brown in the midst of her family and friends who
    1-9  came to witness and share in the heartwarming beginning of the
   1-10  couple's new life together; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A native of Rantoul, Illinois, she later moved to
   1-12  Texas, where she earned her education in the Sherman public school
   1-13  system, Grayson County College, and Baylor University; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Formerly employed as a juvenile probation officer,
   1-15  Mrs. Brown took great pride in her employment as a secret service
   1-16  agent and was a treasured member of her class, which celebrated its
   1-17  graduation less than a year ago; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Vivacious with energy to spare, she not only lived
   1-19  life, but embraced it to the fullest, playing softball regularly
   1-20  and contributing her time and talents to the benefit of a local
   1-21  follies show; an active member of Grace United Methodist Church,
   1-22  Mrs. Brown also had a special affection for children, which she
   1-23  chose to share through her work in behalf of the community's girls
   1-24  club; and
    2-1        WHEREAS,  Cindy Campbell Brown was beloved by all who knew
    2-2  her for her warm and gregarious nature, her deep compassion for
    2-3  others, and her strong dedication to duty; though she will be
    2-4  greatly missed, her memory will long endure in the hearts of the
    2-5  many people whose lives she touched during her years on this earth;
    2-6  now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of United States Secret
    2-9  Service Agent Cindy Campbell Brown and extend sincere sympathy to
   2-10  the members of her family:  to her husband, Special Agent Ron Brown
   2-11  of Portland, Oregon; to her mother, Linda McNew Campbell of
   2-12  Illinois; to her father, Gary Campbell of Sherman; to her brother,
   2-13  Ray Campbell of Corona, California; to her sister, Kim Gradney of
   2-14  Rantoul, Illinois; to her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald
   2-15  Campbell of Iowa; and to the many other friends and relatives of
   2-16  this remarkable young woman; and, be it further
   2-17        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-18  prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
   2-19  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-20  United States Secret Service Agent Cindy Campbell Brown.
