                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Erv Sandlin will be moving from the Lone Star State
    1-2  in June 1995, and he will be sorely missed by the many friends he
    1-3  has made here over the past 45 years; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A resident of Amarillo for 36 years, Mr. Sandlin has
    1-5  made his home in Austin for the past nine years; he has been an
    1-6  employee of the State of Texas since 1985, when he became director
    1-7  for domestic market development for the Department of Agriculture;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mr. Sandlin also served as manager of the recycling
   1-10  market development program for the Texas Natural Resource
   1-11  Conservation Commission, and his tireless efforts, ceaseless
   1-12  dedication, and outstanding leadership contributed significantly to
   1-13  the development of markets for recyclable materials throughout the
   1-14  state; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, This talented and enterprising gentleman also
   1-16  operated his own small business; that venture, The Sandlin Group,
   1-17  provided advertising, marketing, and public relations services to
   1-18  Amarillo businesses for nearly a decade; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The State of Texas has greatly benefited from Erv
   1-20  Sandlin's service in both the public and the private sectors over
   1-21  the past 45 years, and he is indeed deserving of special praise and
   1-22  recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby honor Erv Sandlin for his many contributions and
    2-1  designate May 27, 1995, as Erv Sandlin Appreciation Day in the
    2-2  State of Texas; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-4  prepared for Mr. Sandlin as an expression of high regard by the
    2-5  Texas House of Representatives.
