                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The recent passing of Adelaida Reyes on Saturday,
    1-2  May 20, 1995, at the age of 81, has brought a great loss to the
    1-3  many friends and relatives of this highly respected Houston
    1-4  matriarch; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This devout woman was born in San Antonio de las
    1-6  Alazanas, Coahuila, Mexico, on August 23, 1913, before moving to
    1-7  Texas and raising a family; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A woman of deep and abiding religious conviction,
    1-9  she demonstrated her faith as an active member of St. Joseph's
   1-10  Catholic Church and through her membership in organizations such as
   1-11  Cursillistas, Guadalupana, and Amigos por Telefono; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Adelaida Reyes was a woman of rare dedication and
   1-13  faith; although her wisdom and compassion will be greatly missed by
   1-14  all who knew her, her remarkable spirit will surely live on in the
   1-15  hearts of the many people whose lives she touched during her time
   1-16  on Earth; now, therefore, be it
   1-17        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-18  Legislature hereby honor the memory of Adelaida Reyes and extend
   1-19  sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband,
   1-20  Mr. Frumencio Reyes, Sr.; to her children Frumencio Reyes, Jr., and
   1-21  his wife Janie, Juan Reyes and his wife Christine, and Rosalva
   1-22  Reyes; to her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
   1-23  to the many other friends and relatives of this distinguished
    2-1  woman; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    2-3  for the members of her family.
