                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Schulenburg High School Lady Horns girls' golf
    1-2  team has achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the 1995
    1-3  University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 2A state
    1-4  championship; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, At the state tournament held at Lions Municipal Golf
    1-6  Course in Austin, the Lady Horns held a 16-stroke lead over their
    1-7  nearest competitor after the first round and totally dominated
    1-8  their opposition en route to claiming Schulenburg High School's
    1-9  first-ever state title in girls' golf; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The season's outstanding accomplishments were a
   1-11  result of total dedication to the team concept by players Torie
   1-12  Shimek, Jamie Bell, Kim Harlin, Jill Herzik, and Melanie Orsak; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Outstanding leadership and guidance were provided by
   1-14  Coach CeCe Oden who labored tirelessly to help her young charges
   1-15  fulfill their championship dream; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, These exemplary young women are a source of
   1-17  tremendous pride to the students and faculty of Schulenburg High
   1-18  School as well as their many supporters in the community, and their
   1-19  exceptional achievements are indeed worthy of special legislative
   1-20  recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby congratulate the Schulenburg High School girls'
   1-23  golf team on winning the 1995 UIL Class 2A state championship and
   1-24  extend to the team best wishes for continued success in the future;
    2-1  and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-3  prepared for the team members and their coach and for prominent
    2-4  display at Schulenburg High School as an expression of high regard
    2-5  by the Texas House of Representatives.
