                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Rebecca Faye Dorsett Buck is retiring from her
    1-2  position with Bailey Elementary School, drawing to a close an
    1-3  exceptional career in the field of education that has spanned 19
    1-4  years; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The eldest of four children born to James and Mary
    1-6  Dorsett, Mrs. Buck came into the world on September 4, 1938, in
    1-7  Ashville, Alabama; she and her family later moved to Houston, and
    1-8  she went on to graduate from Galena Park High School in 1956; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, She married Ronald Buck on December 27, 1957, and
   1-10  the couple has enjoyed a deeply fulfilling marriage that has been
   1-11  blessed with the births of three children, Ronald, Teresa, and
   1-12  Terrie; over the years their family has continued to grow, and
   1-13  Mr. and Mrs. Buck now delight in the company of their daughters'
   1-14  spouses, David Wade and Scottie Moore, and their six grandchildren;
   1-15  and
   1-16        WHEREAS, In the early years of her marriage, Mrs. Buck
   1-17  devoted herself to raising her family, and her unconditional love,
   1-18  nurturing, and support have guided her family throughout life's
   1-19  endeavors; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, When her children were in high school, she embarked
   1-21  on a professional career with the Pasadena Independent School
   1-22  District; she began working with the Visual Handicap Program in
   1-23  1975 and currently serves on the office staff of Bailey Elementary
   1-24  School; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Called on to perform a wide variety of tasks during
    2-2  her tenure with the school district, Mrs. Buck has always performed
    2-3  her duties with integrity, attention to detail, and diligence; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, She has earned the affections of her many friends
    2-5  and colleagues for her warm and caring demeanor, as she treats
    2-6  everyone she meets with courtesy and respect; these qualities
    2-7  emanate from a deep and abiding religious faith, which she has
    2-8  expressed as a devout member of the Central Baptist Church for 31
    2-9  years; and
   2-10        WHEREAS, Mrs. Buck looks forward to an active retirement and
   2-11  plans to enjoy her favorite leisure time activities; well regarded
   2-12  for her decorating skills, she has brightened the homes of her
   2-13  family and many friends with her creative arts and crafts projects
   2-14  and lovely floral arrangements; and
   2-15        WHEREAS, This remarkable lady has been a positive influence
   2-16  on both students and teachers in the Pasadena community for nearly
   2-17  20 years, and her exceptional commitment to the youth of this state
   2-18  is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-19        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-20  Legislature hereby honor Rebecca Faye Dorsett Buck for her
   2-21  contributions to the field of education and extend to her warmest
   2-22  best wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it
   2-23  further
   2-24        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-25  prepared for Mrs. Buck as an expression of high regard by the Texas
   2-26  House of Representatives.
   2-27
