                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Clute Little League 11 & 12 year old All-Star
    1-2  team achieved extraordinary success during the 1994 season, winning
    1-3  the state tournament and the Marvin Norcross Sportsmanship Award
    1-4  and finishing their campaign with a record of 12 wins and only one
    1-5  defeat; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Impressing onlookers with their magnificent play,
    1-7  this outstanding team won four consecutive games at the state
    1-8  tournament in Waco, including a 19-4 rout of the Round Rock
    1-9  All-Stars in the finale to claim the coveted crown, and their
   1-10  well-deserved triumph earned Clute a berth in regional competition
   1-11  at St. Petersburg, Florida; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, The team also was chosen as the recipient of the
   1-13  Marvin Norcross Sportsmanship Award, a highly coveted accolade that
   1-14  is awarded by umpires and managers to the team displaying the
   1-15  highest level of sportsmanship in state tournament competition; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, In recognition of their exciting accomplishment in
   1-17  winning the state title, a parade and rally were held to honor the
   1-18  Clute Little League All-Star team on a day the members of the team
   1-19  are certain to remember for many years to come; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Dedication to excellence, both individually and as a
   1-21  team, was the hallmark of this superb squad, whose members include
   1-22  Eric Broaddus, Blake Tiller, Scott Blanks, Andre Brooks, Cole
   1-23  Bruce, Jeremy Harper, Scott James, Chad Johnston, Kit Melton, David
   1-24  Pena, Javier San Miguel, Romauldo Sanchez, Chris Perkins, and John
    2-1  Rangel; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, Coaches Ronnie Broaddus and Chip Melton labored
    2-3  tirelessly to school their young charges in baseball fundamentals
    2-4  and inspired them to fulfill their championship dream; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, These stellar young athletes are a source of great
    2-6  pride to their parents, their friends, and the team's many
    2-7  supporters in the community, and their remarkable achievements
    2-8  during the course of the season are truly worthy of special
    2-9  legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-11  Legislature hereby congratulate the Clute Little League 11 & 12
   2-12  year old All-Stars on their receipt of the 1994 Texas state
   2-13  championship and the Marvin Norcross Sportsmanship Award and extend
   2-14  to the team and its coaches best wishes for continued success in
   2-15  the future; and, be it further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-17  prepared for the team members and coaching staff as an expression
   2-18  of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
