No. 1065 74R13898 SAJ-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Lorraine Saenz-Sarabia for her many contributions to public 1-3 education and congratulate her on her recent election to the Grand 1-4 Prairie school board on May 6, 1995; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Grand Prairie, 1-6 Mrs. Saenz-Sarabia received her bachelor's degree in elementary 1-7 education from Texas Wesleyan University and was a teacher at 1-8 Fannin Elementary School; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Deeply committed to educational issues, she has 1-10 served the school district in numerous ways and has been active 1-11 with the Magnet School Study Committee and the Multicultural 1-12 Research Team; a woman of boundless energy and enthusiasm, she has 1-13 made a positive difference in countless students' lives as a mentor 1-14 with the Serve America Project and as a tutor volunteer; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A leading force in the community, Mrs. Saenz-Sarabia 1-16 also has distinguished herself as a board member of both the 1-17 Women's Division of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce and the 1-18 Grand Prairie Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Throughout her many endeavors, she has enjoyed the 1-20 love and support of her devoted husband, Richard Sarabia, and the 1-21 couple's four fine children, Vicente, Adrian, Alanna, and Marcos; 1-22 and 1-23 WHEREAS, Mrs. Saenz-Sarabia has worked tirelessly to improve 1-24 the quality of education in her community, and it is most fitting 2-1 that she receive special praise and recognition for her many years 2-2 of devoted service; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby commend Lorraine Saenz-Sarabia for her many 2-5 outstanding contributions to the field of public education and 2-6 congratulate her on her recent election to the Grand Prairie 2-7 school board; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mrs. Saenz-Sarabia as an expression of high esteem by 2-10 the Texas House of Representatives.
