                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Roscoe High School boys' track team has reached
    1-2  the pinnacle of success by winning the 1995 UIL state championship;
    1-3  and
    1-4        WHEREAS, In order to claim a state title in any team sport,
    1-5  athletes must labor tirelessly both to enhance their physical
    1-6  skills and to develop true championship mettle, and the young men
    1-7  representing Roscoe High School in this year's competition truly
    1-8  exemplify those qualities; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The team's outstanding success was a result of
   1-10  significant contributions from every team member, including Brandon
   1-11  Abeita, Kevin Buchanan, Jason Freeman, Michael Garcia, Matt Howard,
   1-12  Jimmy Jones, Tyrone McCann, Steven Acebedo, Jason Alexander,
   1-13  Brannon Barnes, Ray Chavez, Jerry Chavira, Andy Gomez, Jeffery
   1-14  Hardy, Nathan Hartkopf, Shae Sanford, Jim Watts, Danny Zapata, Cody
   1-15  Arpe, Beau Barnes, Scott Blackley, Lucan Campa, Jake Freeman, Brad
   1-16  Williams, Andy Howard, Heath Ince, Michael Lomas, Tommy Nash, Ty
   1-17  Purcell, Marcial Saenz, Rudy Sanchez, Justin Tomlin, Gavino Abrigo,
   1-18  Wes Allen, Oscar Cantu, Bobby Emerson, Nick Gardner, Jared Healer,
   1-19  Jeremy Kidd, Eric Martinez, Roy Martinez, Jamie Stewart, Shane
   1-20  Tomlin, Jady Underwood, Jody Underwood, Michael Venzor, and Toby
   1-21  Young; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Head coach Wes Williams inspired his charges to
   1-23  perform at the highest possible level in order to achieve their
   1-24  championship dream, and he was ably supported in his efforts by
    2-1  assistant coaches Johnny Martin and Chuck Cathey; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, These exemplary young men are a tremendous source of
    2-3  pride to the students and faculty of Roscoe High School as well as
    2-4  their many supporters in the community, and their exceptional
    2-5  achievements are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition;
    2-6  now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby congratulate the Roscoe High School Plowboy
    2-9  track team on winning the 1995 UIL state track championship and
   2-10  extend to the team best wishes for continued success in the future;
   2-11  and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the team members and coaching staff and for prominent
   2-14  display at Roscoe High School as an expression of high regard by
   2-15  the Texas House of Representatives.
