                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
    1-2  who have shared 40 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
    1-3  memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Guadalupe and Alicia Rodriguez recently had the
    1-5  privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives
    1-6  when they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on March 14,
    1-7  1995; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The pair met at a high school football game, and
    1-9  after discovering that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives
   1-10  together, they exchanged wedding vows in 1955; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Since then, the Rodriguezes have enjoyed an enduring
   1-12  relationship that has grown in love and mutual respect with each
   1-13  passing year and that has been blessed by the births of five
   1-14  cherished children: Ruben, Rosalinda, Richard R., Rudy X., and
   1-15  Michael; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez have established themselves
   1-17  as industrious and valued members of the Harlingen community;
   1-18  Mr. Rodriguez distinguished himself through his 20-year career with
   1-19  the United States Air Force, and his lovely and gracious wife
   1-20  devoted herself to raising their fine family; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Over the years, their close-knit family has
   1-22  continued to grow, and the Rodriguezes now delight in the company
   1-23  of six grandchildren: Jacob Cantu, Amelia Rae Cantu, Daniella N.
   1-24  Rodriguez, Adriana A. Rodriguez, Sarah S. Rodriguez, and Xavier
    2-1  Almanza; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, The Rodriguezes are now deservedly enjoying the many
    2-3  benefits of a full and active life together, and they are able to
    2-4  look forward to each day with the same enthusiasm that sparked
    2-5  their romance more than 40 years ago; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, Built on a foundation of mutual love, trust, and
    2-7  support, their life together has been a source of joy and
    2-8  inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are indeed
    2-9  deserving of special recognition on this joyous occasion; now,
   2-10  therefore, be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-12  Legislature hereby congratulate Guadalupe and Alicia Rodriguez on
   2-13  their 40th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best
   2-14  wishes for their continued happiness; and, be it further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-16  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard
   2-17  by the Texas House of Representatives.
