                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Ryan Todd Holland on his outstanding achievement in attaining the
    1-3  lofty rank of Eagle Scout; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout are
    1-5  difficult and are met by only a select few of the many who join the
    1-6  scouting movement; by successfully fulfilling those criteria, Eagle
    1-7  Scout Holland has proven himself worthy of wearing the coveted
    1-8  silver eagle badge emblematic of the supreme honor in scouting; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Exemplifying scouting's highest ideals, Ryan Todd
   1-10  Holland has been a source of great pride for his family and an
   1-11  inspiration to his fellow troop members; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, This highly motivated young man chose as his Eagle
   1-13  Scout project the restoration of baggage carts at the Texas
   1-14  Transportation Museum in San Antonio, and he ably supervised every
   1-15  phase of this worthy endeavor, including raising funds and
   1-16  organizing volunteers; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, A student at Hobby Middle School in San Antonio, he
   1-18  has devoted considerable time to his studies, and his exceptional
   1-19  efforts have allowed him to maintain an "A" average and earned him
   1-20  membership in the National Junior Honor Society; he also enjoys
   1-21  participating in sports and other outdoor activities; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Holland's current aspirations for the
   1-23  future include becoming an attorney or pursuing athletic excellence
   1-24  as a player in the National Basketball Association; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, In a traditional ceremony of the Eagle Court of
    2-2  Honor held on May 21, 1995, Eagle Scout Holland was duly recognized
    2-3  for his diligence in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and awarded
    2-4  his silver insignia, and he is indeed worthy of special legislative
    2-5  recognition on the occasion of this significant achievement; now,
    2-6  therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby congratulate Ryan Todd Holland on his attainment
    2-9  of scouting's highest honor and his acceptance into the elite ranks
   2-10  of the Eagle Scouts; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-12  prepared for Eagle Scout Holland as an expression of high regard by
   2-13  the Texas House of Representatives.
