                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Murray Peterson has provided outstanding service to
    1-2  the members of this chamber as the doorkeeper of the house of
    1-3  representatives during the 73rd and 74th legislative sessions,
    1-4  helping to maintain the order and decorum necessary to ensure the
    1-5  smooth operation of this legislative body; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Better known as "Pete" to his many friends at the
    1-7  State Capitol, Mr. Peterson enjoyed a distinguished career with the
    1-8  Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas and was
    1-9  commissioned as a special Texas Ranger on his retirement in 1985;
   1-10  and
   1-11        WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman has admirably performed his
   1-12  vital role as doorkeeper throughout his fine tenure with the house,
   1-13  and his cheerful demeanor and dedication to duty will be greatly
   1-14  missed by his many friends and colleagues in the house; now,
   1-15  therefore, be it
   1-16        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-17  Legislature hereby commend Murray "Pete" Peterson for his exemplary
   1-18  service to the Texas House of Representatives and extend warmest
   1-19  best wishes to him for continued happiness in the years to come;
   1-20  and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-22  prepared for Mr. Peterson as an expression of highest regard by the
   1-23  Texas House of Representatives.
