By Hill H.R. No. 1103 74R13997 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Julie Behr and Jill Liberman of J. J. Pearce High School on winning 1-3 the 1995 University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 5A girls' 1-4 doubles state tennis championship; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Both of these gifted young athletes were members of 1-6 the 1992 J. J. Pearce High School state championship tennis team 1-7 and their unquenchable desire to return to the pinnacle of success, 1-8 coupled with a tireless dedication to excellence, allowed them to 1-9 claim the coveted crown in the doubles competition this year; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Coach Joe Mounger schooled this dynamic duo in the 1-11 complexities of doubles tennis play and inspired them to attain 1-12 their championship dream; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Following their high school graduation, Ms. Behr and 1-14 Ms. Liberman plan to attend The University of Texas at Austin and 1-15 hope to achieve a similar level of success as members of the 1-16 Longhorn tennis squad; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Ms. Liberman, the daughter of Roz Liberman, and 1-18 Ms. Behr, daughter of Leonard and Linda Behr, have both benefitted 1-19 from the constant love and support of their respective families in 1-20 their pursuit of athletic and academic excellence; and 1-21 WHEREAS, These exemplary young women have been a source of 1-22 tremendous pride to the students and faculty of J. J. Pearce High 1-23 School as well as their many supporters in the community, and their 1-24 exceptional achievements are indeed worthy of special legislative 2-1 recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby congratulate Jill Liberman and Julie Behr on 2-4 winning the 1995 UIL Class 5A girls' doubles state tennis 2-5 championship and extend to them best wishes for continued success 2-6 in all future endeavors; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared 2-8 for Ms. Liberman and Ms. Behr and for prominent display at J. J. 2-9 Pearce High School as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-10 House of Representatives.
