H.R. No. 1105 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Terence Christopher Gorman on 1-2 May 13, 1995, at the age of 20, has deeply saddened the many 1-3 friends and relatives of this talented young man and lifelong 1-4 resident of Baytown; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A student at Houston Community College, Mr. Gorman 1-6 was an Olympic-caliber gymnast who had placed among the top in his 1-7 sport at the state and national level and had garnered numerous 1-8 awards for his superb performances in competition; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Gorman displayed outstanding leadership as team 1-10 captain and a longtime member of the Gymmasters Men's Gymnast Team 1-11 in Houston, a group that had attained the status of national 1-12 champions in 1994, the same year in which he was graduated from 1-13 Memorial Senior High School; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Popular with his teammates and friends for his great 1-15 enthusiasm, spirit, and drive, Terence Gorman attained a host of 1-16 remarkable achievements during his brief time on this earth and, 1-17 though he will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know 1-18 him, his memory will long endure in the hearts of those whose 1-19 lives he touched; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Terence Christopher 1-22 Gorman and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to 1-23 his parents, Rod and Sharon Gorman; to his brother and 1-24 sister-in-law, Rod and Andrea Gorman; to his sister, Gigi Gorman; 2-1 to his nephew, Brandon Gorman; to his grandparents, Althea Locher, 2-2 Mr. and Mrs. Harry Locher, and Viola Gorman; to his uncles and 2-3 aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Locher, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Glen, Mr. and 2-4 Mrs. Dewitt Gorman, and Barbara Gorman of Houston; and to his 2-5 cousins, Heather Hartless, Nicole Locher, Lance Locher, D'Laine 2-6 Locher Fletcher, and Tracy Gorman; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-9 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-10 Terence Christopher Gorman.
